NCBA Bank and ePureMotion Limited have entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding aimed at making electric vehicles more accessible through tailored asset financing solutions. The collaboration brings together vehicle supply and financial services to help lower one of the biggest barriers to electric mobility in Kenya: the upfront cost of acquiring an EV.

The partnership covers a broad range of electric mobility solutions distributed by ePureMotion, including passenger cars, commercial vans, buses, and public service vehicles. Financing solutions will be available to qualifying salaried individuals, businesses, SACCOs, fleet operators, and public transport investors seeking to transition to electric mobility.
Under the agreement, the two organizations will work together to offer competitive financing packages, extended repayment periods for eligible customers, streamlined loan processing, flexible insurance options for selected market segments, and financing models that can incorporate charging infrastructure for commercial fleet deployments.
Although electric vehicles offer significant savings through lower fuel and maintenance costs, many prospective buyers continue to face challenges in accessing suitable financing. The collaboration seeks to bridge this gap by combining vehicle supply with structured financial solutions that make EV ownership more practical for both individuals and businesses.

Speaking during the signing ceremony, Dr. Gilbert Saggia, Chief Executive Officer and Director of ePureMotion, said:
“The future of electric mobility depends on more than simply making vehicles available. Customers need access to financing, charging infrastructure, aftersales support, and reliable service within one integrated ecosystem. Our partnership with NCBA brings these elements closer together and creates a practical pathway for more Kenyans and businesses to adopt electric mobility.”
Kenya continues to strengthen its position as one of Africa’s leading electric mobility markets, supported by a renewable electricity mix, an evolving policy environment, growing investment in charging infrastructure, and increasing demand for lower operating costs among fleet and public transport operators. Rising fuel prices and maintenance expenses have further strengthened the business case for electric transport across commercial sectors.
As part of the partnership, ePureMotion will support customers through vehicle supply, charging solutions, aftersales service, fleet advisory, and technical guidance throughout the ownership journey. NCBA Bank will provide asset financing subject to its standard credit assessment processes and applicable lending requirements.
Beyond expanding access to financing, the collaboration supports Kenya’s broader sustainability and industrial development objectives by encouraging investment in low emission transport, strengthening confidence in electric vehicles as commercially viable assets, and contributing to the growth of the country’s emerging e-mobility ecosystem.
Dr. Saggia noted that the agreement represents more than a conventional financing partnership.
“Electric vehicles are increasingly becoming mainstream commercial assets rather than niche technologies. This partnership demonstrates growing confidence in the market and provides individuals, businesses, and fleet operators with a clearer pathway to invest in cleaner, more efficient transport solutions.”
The financing programme will be introduced through ePureMotion’s nationwide customer engagement channels alongside NCBA’s asset finance platform, supported by customer education initiatives designed to simplify the financing and vehicle acquisition process.
