Netstar has announced the appointment of Warren Mande as its new Managing Director, effective 1 July 2026, marking a leadership transition at one of South Africa’s leading vehicle tracking and fleet intelligence providers.
Mande will succeed Grant Fraser, who is stepping down to relocate to Australia with his family. Fraser will remain with the business until 30 June 2026 to support a structured handover and ensure operational continuity.
Netstar forms part of the Altron group and operates as a key contributor to its recurring revenue and digital services portfolio. The company provides telematics solutions including stolen vehicle recovery, GPS tracking, and data-driven fleet management services across both consumer and enterprise segments.
In its February 2026 operational update, Altron reported operating profit growth of more than 20% for the financial year, with Netstar identified as a key driver of performance. The business also exceeded 2 million subscribers, reinforcing its position as one of the largest telematics networks in the region and highlighting continued demand for connected mobility and asset protection services.
Fraser led Netstar for approximately three and a half years, during which the business underwent a structured operational improvement programme focused on profitability, efficiency, and product strengthening. His tenure also saw the early expansion of Netstar’s footprint into Australia, signalling the group’s intent to diversify beyond its core South African market.
Altron Group CEO Werner Kapp noted that Fraser had already planned his relocation prior to assuming the leadership role and credited him with stabilising and strengthening the business during a critical phase of transformation. He described the period under Fraser as one of improved performance and strategic reset for Netstar.
Fraser said he leaves the company confident in its trajectory, highlighting that the leadership team has built a strong platform for future growth across both existing and new markets.
The incoming Managing Director, Warren Mande, is a long-serving Altron executive with 23 years of experience within the group. Over his career, he has held several senior leadership positions across multiple business units, gaining extensive exposure to the group’s technology, services, and enterprise operations.
Most recently, Mande served as Managing Director of Altron Document Solutions, a business operating across 26 Sub-Saharan African markets in the managed print and document services sector. In that role, he led a significant turnaround programme focused on restructuring, operational efficiency, and revenue stabilisation.
He has also spent the past nine months as Chief Operating Officer at Netstar, giving him direct exposure to the company’s operations, customer base, and technology roadmap ahead of his appointment.
Group leadership has described Mande as a proven operator with deep institutional knowledge and a strong record in business transformation. His appointment is expected to support continuity while accelerating Netstar’s next phase of growth.
Mande said he is stepping into the role with a clear focus on scaling innovation and strengthening Netstar’s position in a rapidly evolving telematics landscape, where data, connectivity, and predictive analytics are becoming central to fleet management and mobility solutions.
