Bridgestone EMEA is expanding its agricultural tyre portfolio with the introduction of new extra-large (XXL) sizes within its VT-TRACTOR range, developed specifically for the latest generation of high-horsepower tractors operating in increasingly demanding field conditions. The expansion adds six new sizes, spanning 38–46 inch rim diameters, and focuses on improving traction, durability, and overall operational efficiency.
The goal is to help farmers achieve higher productivity while reducing total cost of ownership over the tyre lifecycle. A key engineering focus is optimization of rolling circumference, ensuring correct lead ratios between front and rear tyre combinations. This supports improved machine stability, reduced wear, and better fuel efficiency in field operations. “Modern agriculture is rapidly evolving, with larger and more powerful machines becoming the norm,” said andrea marconcini, Director Agriculture, Bridgestone EMEA.
“Our expanded VT-TRACTOR XXL range is designed to help farmers work more efficiently in tough conditions while delivering longer tyre life and improved cost performance.” Built on advanced simulation-led design, the tyres feature deeper and wider tread architecture to balance traction and wear resistance. A patented lug design increases lug volume by up to 12% compared to competing products, enhancing grip while reducing energy loss and maintaining consistent performance over time.
Durability and soil protection are reinforced through Bridgestone’s S-LINE bead profile, enabling flexible low-pressure operation that helps reduce soil compaction while maintaining structural integrity under heavy loads. A reinforced casing design ensures even pressure distribution across the footprint, supporting longer tyre life and improved field performance.
“The design challenge is not only about strength, but also efficiency and soil preservation,” Marconcini added. “We have focused on delivering a tyre that performs consistently under load while protecting both the machine and the land it works on.”
The range is also compatible with Central Tyre Inflation Systems (CTIS), enabling operators to adjust pressure based on terrain and application—improving traction, reducing wear, and enhancing fuel efficiency.
Manufacturing will take place at Bridgestone’s upgraded Puente San Miguel facility in Spain, now equipped with advanced production capability for large-diameter agricultural tyres.
The VT-TRACTOR XXL range will be rolled out progressively from April 2026, extending Bridgestone’s presence in the high-horsepower tractor segment and aligning with the evolving demands of modern agriculture.
