As global competition in the commercial vehicle industry intensified during the first quarter of 2026, FAW emerged as one of the strongest-performing Chinese automotive powertrain brands in overseas markets. The company recorded a 14 percent year-on-year increase in engine sales, while transmission sales climbed by 23 percent, reflecting growing international demand for Chinese heavy-duty mobility solutions and strengthening confidence in FAW’s global expansion strategy.
The company’s momentum was driven by rapid growth across multiple international regions, underscoring the effectiveness of its long-term market localization strategy and expanding international footprint. Eastern and Southern Africa stood out as some of the fastest-growing territories, with Tanzania recording a remarkable 130.3 percent rise in cumulative regional sales. Kenya also delivered exceptional results, where demand for flagship FAW models such as the JK6 and JH6 surged dramatically. Sales of these units, powered by FAW Power drivetrains, increased by 210.1 percent year-on-year, making Kenya one of the most significant contributors to the company’s regional growth trajectory.
Northwest Africa also maintained strong momentum, supported by the continued deployment of commercial vehicle fleets across logistics and infrastructure sectors. The region posted a 94.6 percent year-on-year increase in sales, signaling sustained demand for heavy-duty transport solutions.
Across Latin America, FAW Power strengthened its position through a combination of market penetration and product diversification. Mexico delivered key breakthroughs, while Peru and Chile generated simultaneous growth momentum, helping regional sales rise by 87.3 percent in the first quarter. Southeast Asia remained one of the company’s fastest-expanding regions, with sales increasing by more than 150 percent year-on-year, while Central Asia maintained steady upward growth with an 8 percent increase.
FAW Power’s expanding global presence has been supported by years of targeted market cultivation and customer-focused product development. By studying operational environments and transport demands in different regions, the company has increasingly tailored its product strategy to suit local requirements.
In Peru, FAW introduced its first batch of eight high-end J7 tractor units equipped with the CA6SX1 natural gas engine, marking the debut of FAW Power’s natural gas product line in Latin America. The launch represented a strategic step toward cleaner transport technologies and demonstrated the company’s commitment to alternative energy solutions in emerging markets.
To reinforce its market presence across South America, FAW Trucks also intensified customer engagement activities through road tests, demonstrations and after-sales follow-ups designed to strengthen fleet operator confidence and long-term adoption.
Australia has become another strategic focus market for FAW’s premium heavy-duty truck ambitions. Responding to local demand for high-horsepower transport vehicles, the company positioned the FAW J7 powered by the CA6DX1 engine within the country’s long-haul transport segment. The strategy has already generated repeat orders, with 20 customized J7 tractor units completed and prepared for market delivery, reinforcing FAW’s ambitions within Australia’s premium trucking sector.
In South Africa, the launch of the FAW J7 Euro V heavy-duty truck powered by the CA6DM3 engine attracted considerable attention from the country’s commercial transport industry. Developed specifically for long-distance logistics operations, the model gained recognition for its combination of power, driver comfort and intelligent fleet management technology. Confidence in the vehicle was immediately reflected in the market, with a major customer signing a 100-unit purchase agreement on launch day, followed by additional large-volume orders that strengthened FAW’s premium positioning in Southern Africa.
Beyond product expansion, FAW Power has invested heavily in building a comprehensive international service ecosystem designed to support customers throughout the entire operational lifecycle. The company has continued strengthening its global support network through a combination of on-site technical assistance, localized service teams and remote engineering support systems.
In Laos, where demand for mining dump trucks has grown rapidly, FAW technical teams conducted extensive field support missions across Vientiane and Thakhek under challenging operating conditions. The teams delivered practical driver training focused on safe vehicle operation and maintenance while simultaneously enhancing the technical capabilities of local dealership personnel. Through a mix of classroom instruction and hands-on operational guidance, FAW established a stronger service support chain linking agents directly to end users.
In Guinea, where FAW vehicles have earned a reputation for reliability in demanding operating environments, the company responded to the need for structured driver training among newly recruited operators. FAW specialists partnered with local service centers to provide customized coaching programs for fleet operators, offering personalized guidance based on individual driving patterns and operational weaknesses. The initiative helped improve vehicle performance stability while supporting ongoing construction and logistics operations.
Togo has also emerged as one of FAW Trucks’ fastest-growing international markets in recent years. To support safer and more fuel-efficient operations, FAW technical experts traveled to Lomé to conduct specialized training sessions focused on the CA6DM2 engine platform. The sessions emphasized fuel-saving techniques, braking optimization and operational best practices. More than 50 drivers participated in the four training programs, significantly improving operational confidence among both drivers and local distributors.
As FAW Power continues expanding its international reach, the company is positioning itself not only as a vehicle manufacturer but also as a global mobility solutions provider built around technology, localized adaptation and long-term service capability. By strengthening its core technologies, refining its product portfolio and deepening its after-sales support systems, FAW Trucks aims to accelerate sustainable overseas growth while further elevating the global presence of Chinese commercial vehicle engineering.
