Mpho Matseba is now leading FUSO Trucks Southern Africa following her appointment as Head of the business, a move that strengthens leadership continuity for the commercial vehicle brand during a period of global transformation within the trucking industry.
Matseba officially assumed the role on 1 April 2026 after serving as Head of FUSO Sales from August 2024 to March 2026. During that period, she was closely involved in strengthening the brand’s commercial performance across Southern Africa while deepening relationships with customers and dealer partners.
In her current position, she oversees the full FUSO Trucks operation in the region, including business strategy, sales and marketing, customer experience, after-sales services, parts operations, supply chain management, and the wider value-chain offering under Daimler Truck Southern Africa.
With a 21-year career within the Daimler Truck organisation, Matseba brings extensive industry knowledge and long-standing experience working across the broader FUSO and Daimler Truck network. Her leadership journey has included close collaboration with fleet operators, dealerships, and internal business teams, helping shape a management approach centred on operational excellence, sustainable growth, and long-term customer value.
Her appointment comes as the global FUSO business enters a new phase of restructuring. Earlier this year, Daimler Truck AG and Toyota Motor Corporation announced the integration of Hino Motors and Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation under a newly established holding company known as ARCHION Group.
Despite the global developments, DTSA says the Southern African business continues operating without disruption, with no changes to local dealer networks, after-sales support, or day-to-day operations across South Africa and regional markets.
Speaking on her appointment, Matseba said she remains focused on strengthening the brand’s customer-first philosophy while building on FUSO’s established market presence across the region.
“I am honoured to be entrusted with the role of Head of FUSO Trucks Southern Africa and grateful for the opportunity to lead a brand with such a strong legacy in both the local and cross-border markets,” she said. “Having worked closely with our customers and dealer network in my previous role, I look forward to building on this foundation and continuing to drive a customer-first approach as we move forward.”
Maretha Gerber described Matseba as a leader with proven commercial insight and a deep commitment to customers.
“Mpho has consistently demonstrated strong leadership and a clear commitment to the business and its customers,” Gerber said. “Her appointment provides continuity and stability for the FUSO operation in Southern Africa while positioning the brand for continued success under the DTSA umbrella.”
The leadership transition reinforces DTSA’s broader strategy of maintaining operational stability and customer confidence while continuing to deliver transport solutions tailored to the demands of Southern Africa’s logistics and freight sectors.
