Absa Bank Kenya Corporate & Investment Banking Managing Executive James Agin with Simba Corporation Executive Director Suraj Shah sign a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Simba Corporation to expand access to vehicle and agricultural equipment financing solutions for individuals and businesses.

Absa Bank Kenya and Simba Corporation have entered into a financing partnership aimed at making it easier for individuals and businesses to acquire vehicles and agricultural equipment. The two companies signed a memorandum of understanding in Nairobi on 20 August 2026, establishing financing arrangements for customers purchasing selected assets from Simba Corporation.

Under the agreement, businesses purchasing commercial vehicles, including trucks, buses and light commercial vehicles, will be eligible for financing of up to 95% of the purchase price, with repayment periods extending to 72 months. School operators can access up to 100% financing for buses, with repayment terms of up to 84 months.

Individual buyers purchasing passenger vehicles will be able to finance up to 95% of the vehicle cost and repay the loan over a maximum of 72 months. The partnership also targets the agricultural sector, with farmers and agribusinesses able to obtain financing of up to 90% for tractors, agricultural machinery and pick-ups, repayable over periods of up to 60 months.

Simba Corporation is one of Kenya’s long-established automotive and equipment businesses. Founded in 1948 as a used-car dealership, the company has developed into a diversified group with interests spanning vehicle distribution and assembly, hospitality and real estate. Its automotive and equipment portfolio includes FUSO and Ashok Leyland trucks, Mahindra and SAME tractors, Mahindra and Mitsubishi pick-ups, as well as MG and Proton passenger vehicles. The group is led by Executive Chairman Adil Popat and Group CEO Dinesh Kotecha.

Speaking during the signing, Absa Bank Kenya Business Banking Director Renato D’Souza said access to affordable and flexible finance continues to be an obstacle for many enterprises, particularly SMEs seeking vehicles and equipment to support business expansion.

The agreement effectively combines Simba Corporation’s vehicle and equipment portfolio with Absa’s asset-financing capacity, extending financing options across commercial transport, passenger mobility and agricultural mechanization.
