Isuzu Motors South Africa (IMSAf) has confirmed the appointment of Mr. Takashi Nishida as Chairman (Non-Executive Director), effective 1 April 2026.
Mr. Nishida succeeds Mr. Satoshi Yamaguchi, who retires after a 43-year career with Isuzu Motors Limited. Prior to retirement, Mr. Yamaguchi served as Managing Executive Officer: Light Commercial Vehicle Business and Chairman of Isuzu Motors South Africa.
Mr. Nishida brings nearly three decades of experience within Isuzu Motors Limited, with a career spanning Aftersales and Parts operations before transitioning into Overseas Sales. Over the past 20 years, his portfolio has been strongly aligned to international markets, with a particular focus on Africa. His global assignments include roles at Isuzu Truck South Africa (2007–2010), Isuzu Motors International Operations Thailand, Isuzu Motors Sub-Saharan Africa (2016–2017), and Isuzu Motors International in Dubai (2017–2022).
In addition to his appointment as Chairman of IMSAf, Mr. Nishida will concurrently serve as Vice President of the International Sales Division, International Parts Business, and Trade Management at Isuzu Motors Limited.

Isuzu Motors South Africa is a wholly owned subsidiary of Isuzu Motors Limited. The company has operated in South Africa since 1964, initially introducing commercial vehicles to the market, followed by light commercial vehicles in 1972. Local production commenced in 1978, establishing the brand as a long-standing participant in the country’s automotive and commercial transport sector.
